Country Director Job in southern Sudan

In South Sudan, we have a presence in every state with over 500 staff working in heath, nutrition, education, livelihoods, child protection and emergency preparedness/response, at both field and policy level.

As the Country Director, you will lead the transformation of our South Sudan Programme to a new operating model, whilst also delivering Save the Children’s programmes, including advocacy for children. You will build our external profile and influence with key government officials, academic institutions, corporates and traditional institutional donors. You’ll also identify opportunities to develop the programme and strengthen the strategic positioning of Save the Children in South Sudan as well as leading on resource management, staff co-ordination, policy, advocacy and representation.
For this position, we are looking for experience of building, leading and developing a team of senior staff with different backgrounds and expertise; as well as leading change in an organisation. You will have built networks at a senior level, as well as having a good understanding and substantial experience of programme, financial and operational management. You’re a strategic thinker and an effective communicator and comfortable representing at the highest levels. You will also have strong experience in raising funds for programme expansion.
